Anthem Prep Academy coach hosts football camp
STAFF REPORT ~ 4/10/2013

The 9th Annual Let It Fly Football Drills & Skills Camp is under way.

Anthem Prep football coach Mark Huston invites youth, ages 6 – 18, to turn out from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m., every Saturday at Anthem Community Park.

The one-time Northern Arizona University quarterback promises a challenging and productive experience throughout the months of April, May, June and July.

Huston sets the camp up to mimic workouts used by athletes at the higher levels, with a series of 12 stations focusing on developing different skills in a fast-paced environment. He touts a 10 to 1 ratio of athletes to coaches, allowing for personalized instruction. The camp is designed for athletes of any level.

Anthem Prep begins 2nd season of football

MARC BUCKHOUT ~ MANAGING EDITOR ~ 8/31/2011

“Lions and tigers and bears, oh my,” is a line Mark Huston is hoping opponents of the Anthem Prep Academy will be uttering. While the line was made famous in the movie the Wizard of Oz, in which Dorothy claimed there was no place like home, Huston is hoping he has found 16 student-athletes who believes there is no place like the football field.

In just the program’s second season Huston, who played college football at Northern Arizona University and has run Let it Fly Football Camps, a youth camp in Anthem for several years, was tabbed to take the reigns of the junior high football team.

Football Camp Provides Foundation For Anthem Youth
MARC BUCKHOUT - MANAGING EDITOR - 7/22/2010

Mark Huston, the founder of Let It Fly Football Drills & Skills Camp, promises that the youth that go through his camps will learn the fundamentals of the game. Whether it’s the details of a proper stance for lineman or tackling techniques for linebackers to the footwork a defensive back needs to stick with a receiver, Huston, a former college quarterback at Northern Arizona University, has an experienced coaching staff with the expertise to offer local youth a leg up as they prepare for the upcoming football season.

Kids ages 6-17 will improve their overall athleticism by increasing their eye/hand coordination, footwork, speed, agility, and quickness.
